current is a calendar and journal for documenting your eventful life, with per-entry privacy controls you’re always in charge of. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it. We keep it plain because you should actually be able to read it.

How sharing and visibility work

Every event and journal entry has one of three visibility settings that you control:

You set the visibility for each entry and can change it at any time. Nothing you create is ever made public unless you choose to make it public.

Profile basics (username, display name, avatar, bio) are visible to others so people can find and follow you. Journal photos are stored privately and only served to people allowed to see the entry they belong to; profile avatars are public by nature.

Anything you set to Public can be seen, saved, or copied by others while it is public. Treat public entries the way you would a public social-media post.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that make the app work, acting on our behalf:

Cookies and local storage

We use only what’s necessary to keep you signed in and remember your preferences (such as your language choice). We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, events, journals, photos, follows, reactions, and comments are permanently removed. Copies that other users made of your public events remain with those users, but your name is detached from them.

Your rights and choices

Security

Access to your private content is enforced at the database level, not just in the app, so private entries stay private even from other signed-in users. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to fix issues quickly when we learn of them.

Children

current is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age.

International users

Your data may be processed on servers located in countries other than your own. By using current, you consent to that processing.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page when our practices change and revise the “last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated in the app or by email.
